All On Their Own

July 31, 2009

During the 2009 Ford AQHYA World Championship Show, Showtime Show Clothing is offering youth a unique opportunity to design their own show clothes and perhaps even win a one-of-a-kind outfit.

The design contest is the brain child of co-owner Penny Young.

“I was drawing designs one day and was thinking about kids and what turns them on,” Penny said. “I thought it would be fun to have some sort of contest and came up with a design contest. I thought it might be right up their alley and they could win a big grand prize.”

That grand prize is an entire outfit made from the winning drawing. There will also be many more prizes, and each entrant will receive a free t-shirt that says “I Design for Showtime.” There will be daily winning designs and those will be displayed at the Showtime Show Clothing booth at the Ford AQHYA World Championship Show, which continues through August 8 in Oklahoma City.

“Since it’s our first year, I’m not sure exactly how we’ll do it,” Penny said. “Depending on the response, we’ll have daily little prizes and drawings and we will probably award some gift certificates that can be used toward future purchases.”

Any youth can participate in the contest and Penny said there will be crayons and paper available at their Youth World booth for those who want to enter. For more information, go to the Showtime booth in the Cox Pavilion or online to www.showtimeshowclothing.com.
