This tip was really helpful in clipping the bridle path of my Husband's horse, a very hypersensitive Saddlebred! He is really a jittery horse and the Wahl clippers that a friend loaned me really helped Duke calm down and allow me to groom him, bridle path & muzzle!

Time and patience, is the most important. If I have a horse that is real bad I start with a battery, back massager, it has a quiet hum and no sharpe edges. After they get use to that, I have a AA whal clippers, that is small enought to fit in the palm of my hand. Just a few minutes a day and in a week or two I can use my dads old cow clippers. It works time and patience.

I really appreciated the article on clipping. We have a young one that got a bad tick bite on her bridle path behind her ears when we were trail riding and horses camping, back when she was younger. We have had to really work to desensitize her to having her bridle path touched, rubbed, brushed, combed, bathed, and now finally, clipped. I use the small rechargable Wahl clippers on her. They are so handy that I use them on everyone now, and don't use the old corded ones anymore at all.
