Hannah, your best bet is to start by calling AQHA Customer Service and telling them everything you know about the horse. She might already be registered, and you'll just need to get her transferred into your name. Give us a call! 806-376-4811. Thanks for your question!

I just bought a 3 year old registered filly. On her papers she's listed as a bay. She currently has the markings of a dun (dorsal stripe, leg barring, and some greyish areas on the legs). Do I need to note those changes on the transfer report, and send several photos?

I have a breeding stock registered APHA grulla mare that I am planning on breeding this spring to a AQHA and NFQHA registered stallion. My question is will I be able to register the baby AQHA & APHA or just APHA?

I have a question similar to Sasha Hunter & Carrie Sherrell.
I have a dappled gray blue roan mare who looks very QH. When I first bought her she was extremely blue and as blue roans do she turns black in the winter. She is now 5 and has grayed out but she still looks like a silvery blue.
I've been breeding her with an AQHA papered dun stud and she has produced an extremely rare color of grulla. She has no papers of any kind that I know of but if I did a DNA test and she turned out to be pure QH could I register her foals with AQHA?
Anytime I ever bring the subject up over the phone I feel they won't listen or have anything to do with me so they tell me "you cannot paper a horse if you don't know who the Sire and Dam are." so would I be able to start a 'bloodline' or 'stud book' or whatever it is with my mare and the papered stud?

It's really obvious, after reading through these comments, that there are a LOT of people that need to be educated before they start breeding/owning horses. Some of the comments/questions just had me shaking my head. :)
