Halloween Photo Contest Winner

October 31, 2010

More than 40 AQHA Facebook fans sent in photos of their Quarter Horses in costume.

Jennifer LeMere painted a skeleton on Duces Eastor Wes, aka “Smokey,” one year for Halloween. Jennifer is the grand prize winner.

For the month of October, AQHA asked our Facebook fans to submit a photo of their Quarter Horses in costume. The grand prize for the person who submitted the photo of the most unique and funny costume is a WeatherBeeta Orican Freestlye Detach-a-neck blanket. Second and third place winners will receive a $10 gift card to Quarter Horse Outfitters.

Thanks to every fan who submitted a photo. All the costumes were clever, and they were a blast to judge! Below is a slide show of all the entries. Click on each picture to see the description of the costume.

The winners were as follows:

First Place: Jennifer LeMere with the skeleton painted on Duces Eastor Wes, aka “Smokey.”
Second Place: Lisa DeLuca and Poco Honeybee Bars dressed as a pinata.
Third Place: Laureen Fisher and Mr Jet Impress as the horse riding the cowgirl.

Here were the contest rules:

  1. The horse must be an American Quarter Horse.
  2. Include your name, address and your horse’s full registered name with your entry.
  3. Only one entry per person.
  4. Explanation of costume must be 300 words or less.
  5. E-mail subject line must include “Halloween Photo Contest.”
