I am thankful for starting riding lessons at Silver Creek Ranch! There assistance in helping me find the right horse for me and riding lessons provided by their competent trainers has made this year one of my best ever. My Pittsburgian husband who initially said, “Now, I am just not going to be involved with this” now says, “There is just something wholesome about riding.” Isn’t that the truth?

A little late in posting this for Thanksgiving,but I am thankful that my very special Quarter Horse,Starbuck,survived not only a serious bacterial infection this past summer,but because of his badly compromised immunity,every horseman’s worst nightmare,EPM. In over 35 years of having horses,we never went through anything like this and as you can imagine,I was really depressed and worried. I am so happy to say that he is back to normal and we are using him again. He is not only my good trail horse,but a multiple champion driving horse,as well. It took a lot of hard work,but Starbuck has a huge heart and a ton of courage.

To Michelle,having been down that sad and difficult road several times myself,I truly feel for you. This will be my first Christmas without my dear Paint Horse,Jett. I had him put down last December,after many years of Navicular. He was 30. Several years ago,I lost my beloved Traveler,a 34 year old Standardbred. I had both horses for over 22 years. It is never an easy decision to make,but sometimes,it is the best thing you can do for the horse you love. Remember Michelle,though he carried you for many years,you now carry him….forever,in your heart.

I am grateful for my family. This is my first holiday season with out my bestfriend my quarter horse dixie as i had to have him euthanised last february at the age of 32.He was big hearted and a great show horse and I am so thankful for him coming into my life and as my great rideing instructer Hilda Hadley and my parents worked very hard to get him for me as I fell in love with him at first site he was just 7 years old at the time we shared good times and bad times and like I said I am grateful that i was so lucky to have been blessed to own such a wonderful horse he will always be in my heart foever I can never thank my family enough or Hilda hadley for what they have done for me.

I am thankful that God created horses and blessed me with the overcomers that I have. My American Quarter Horses have defied the odds and have overcome challenges that were presented to them like Champions even when I was in doubt and the world around them said “A Bullet Is Cheaper”. I am Thankful For AQHA and the many hardworking people it employs. I am also Thankful to open my email and find america’s horse daily ” LOVE IT ”

God has blessed me in many ways and i am thankful for all my blessings we have a roof over our head and food on the table and we both have a job and thankful for good health and i am thankful for my horse broker and sadie and poco may God bless you this thanksgiving at AQHA

I am grateful I was able to attend another World Quarterhorse show. Always enjoy that. And I am grateful for what I have, husband home, good transportation, pets and friends. Friends mean a lot when family members live far away.
The World show was very good this year.
