Earn rewards for what you love doing most!

AQHA’s Horseback Riding Program rewards you for doing what you love – saddling up and riding. Whether you are exclusive to the American Quarter Horse or also ride other breeds, you can participate in this fun and rewarding program.

The only requirement to join the HBR program is a current AQHA, AQHYA or amateur membership.

There are two divisions of the HBR program: Quarter Horse and All Breed. You can sign up for one or the other for $35 or join both for $70. As long as your membership is current, you don’t have to re-enroll for the duration of the program! How long the program takes is all up to you. The more time you spend riding your horse, the more hours you can log, therefore, the more awards you earn!

Since the program is an incentive for riding, you can log hours anytime you get on a horse. You don’t have to own the horse to log hours, either – just make sure you log your hours under the appropriate breed program.

Now for the good part – the awards!

There are two award systems, one for the Quarter Horse Division and one for the All Breed Division.

Glad to see that the AQHA is also counting hours spent DRIVING in this program! The American Driving Society recently instituted a similar program as well,as have many other breed associations, but I believe this was the first. It’s a nice way to include everyone, whether they show or not,and regardless of discipline. Way to go,AQHA!

  • A Dude Ranch Reunion – America’s Horse Daily

[...] USA Today recently offered up some suggestions for a unique family reunion — and we couldn’t agree more with one of the suggestions. A family reunion set at a dude ranch might be the chance for horse lovers to share their passion for horses with kinfolk who don’t often experience the thrill of being horseback. [...]
