The convention was very successful and regenerating for me personally. As for me, I attended my first convention in 1993 and after I got my first taste of it I kept coming back for more year after year. Over the years I have had the opportunity to pursuede various colleagues and friends in the horse industry to attend the convention with me, emphasising to them how important it is to see our association in action. Since 1993 I have succeffully persuaded and accompanied 9 different AQHA members at their first annual convention. Proudly, a few of them have continued to attend annually and now serve on committees as well.

This year I had the pleasure of accompanying 2 members to their first convention. I enjoyed watching them 'take it all in'. As a long time veteran, it is very interesting to watch a first time convention attendees reactions and hear their questions and comments. It really puts a new spin on it.

The convention was successful and both of my colleagues are envigorated and are applying for committee positions to become more involved members of our great association.

As for me, I came home inspired and energized as well. AQHA continues to make policy decisions that keeps our association in the forefront as a true leader in the horse industry. For this reason I not only continue to support the association as I have as an active committee member for so many years but look forward to expanding my role within the organization as well; there to serve for the greater good of our great association.

If you have not had the pleasure of attending an AQHA convention I highly recommend it. This is where you really get to see what your association is made of.

Additionally I would like to congratulate the members of the Executive Committee and thank them for all their hard work as well as the committed members of the Board of Directors and AQHA Staff.

Sincerely,

Kristina Hedrick Wilson

For all of you that know me, I'm preaching to the choir.
I must say that we are a lucky group of people. I met my best friends ,met my husband, and raised my children in our wonderful AQHA family. I was involved in the very first AQH Foundation meetings, committee's, and now the Ambassador programs.I am feeling very proud of our assciation.I have learned along time ago, if we take care of our Horse ,our members needs will be met.

I attended our convention this month, and I have never been so proud to see our by-law system work ,for the good of all our members.Members had a chance to vote on the floor, Directors had a chance to vote for a EC position. The Membership was heard. All new territory for some.
I want to thank our past Presidents for all they have given, and will continue to give to our assciation .I want to thank all of our directors who willingly serve, and make the trip to attend the Convention.
We have a knowlegable New President,Johanes Orgeldinger, that all of you should get to know. We have a EC committee that is well rounded in all discipline's and will represent our needs as members.
My personal congratulations to Johhny Trotter and Johne Dobbs. Two horseman/women, with a life time of experience in our industry and Association.
The slate of possible EC members was outstanding, and I am sure we will see these folks in the years to come, be elected to the EC.

So my final thought is,if you have a issue ,voice your opion, get on the agenda, and attend your state and national convention.I know in these economic times ,it is hard for all of us to travel, so if you can not attend the national convention,at least go to your state meeting, and have your voice heard by your state directors.
I am so very proud to be a member of AQHA, and a contributor to our AQHA Foundation.
