Newest Treadway Arrives

June 19, 2009

Welcome to the family, Connor!

I’m a new grandpa! My son Jeff and his wife, Melissa, welcomed Connor Dean Treadway into the family this morning. Connor was born at 12:22 a.m. on Friday, June 19 and weighed 9.5 pounds. Everyone is doing great. This is an exciting time for our family.

I am looking forward to introducing Connor into the AQHA family. He’s AQHA’s newsest AQHYA Life Member.

I can’t wait to get him horseback, but his mom says we have to wait a little while. I’ll keep you posted.

Happy trails,

Don Treadway Jr.

    Dear Don:

Congrats on the new grandbaby. They can’t be beat. My wife had our grandkids on horses before they could walk.

Now, down to busness. I recently got 5 new quarter horse owners, who show in dressage, to join AQHA, Adult Amateur. When they joined online there was a place that asked them what discipline they were going to show. There was no place for DRESSAGE. I suggest you add dressage to your membership enrollment form online. This would enable AQHA to track how many new members are joining because of dressage and acknowlege these quarter horse enthusiast.

PS: This weekend a 15 hand Quarter Horse Stallion, Quatro Clabber, won 1st place in Training Level Test 3 and Test 4 beating all European Warmbloods at Dressage At Heavenly Waters in Bel Aire, MD. He is now qualified for USDF GAIG Championships and BLM Championships Region 1, 2009. The rest of the year he will be competing in First Level trying to qualify in 2 Levels for USDF Championships.

I am 100% convinced the quarter horse is going to show the dressage world the versatility of this fabulous breed.

    Bigger is not better
