There are several distances at which American Quarter Horses run and there is a different all-time world record for each distance. The racing industry normally deems the 440 yard distance as the ‘average’ distance; the world record for 440 yards was set by A Long Goodbye with a speed index of 124 and time of :20.686f. A list of world records set at each distance can be found on our Website at: http://www.aqha.com/aqharacing.com/leaders/worldrecords.html.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistace.

Thank You so much for the article on Peter McCue. I have always admired this great horse. All my horses had a lot of Peter McCue bloodlines. This article helped me feel better this day.
