QuarterFest Contest

March 23, 2009

Go to QuarterFest on our dime!

Tell us what you like about America’s Horse Daily and win a free trip to AQHA’s first-ever equine expo.

It’s a celebration of our favorite animal, the American Quarter Horse. It’s an opportunity to soak in an amazing amount of knowledge and enjoy all-star performances and clinics. It’s the first-ever QuarterFest. And for you, it could be free.

To kick off our inaugural extravaganza – which will be May 1-3 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee – America’s Horse is giving away a trip to the event, complete with airfare from anywhere within the lower 48 states, hotel accommodations and admission to all special events.

To get a free ride to this brand-new event, just tell us what you like best about americashorsedaily.com. Judges will select one winning essay.

QuarterFest will have clinics all weekend long, with four of AQHA’s Professional Horsemen and women: Curt and Tammy Pate, a husband and wife from Newell, South Dakota; Jeff Griffith of Gallatin Gateway, Montana; and Julie Goodnight of Salida, Colorado.

AQHA will also be kicking off its new conservation division. Taking an active role in preserving access to places to ride, upholding the traditions of horse ownership and enjoyment in America, and educating horsemen on building, preserving and behaving properly on trails is critical to our breed and members.

If you’re an AQHA member, you’ll be eligible for reduced admission at QuarterFest.

How to Enter

To enter the trip giveaway, in 200 words or less, tell us which tip on americashorsedaily.com you have benefited from most, and explain why. On the site, you’ll find tips and advice on training, recreational riding, showing, horse health and breeding – so you have lots to choose from.

E-mail your answer to quarterfest@aqha.org no later than March 27. And please adhere to the word limit; longer essays will be disqualified. We’ll only accept one entry per person.

The contest is open to AQHA members over age 18, and the winner will be notified by April 3.

The prize includes airfare to Murfreesboro from anywhere within the contiguous United States, hotel accommodations and event admission. Complete rules are below:

I raise quarterhorses, and i train them and riders. Everyday i learn something new every day and i enjoy sharing with others what i know and am open to learning from others. I think this would be a great opportunity for me and my family. I am 66 years young and love my horses and the experiences i can share and learn from others.

This is great news because I have always had questions about breeding and especially artifical insimination. I did have my mare bred last year by artifical insimianation and on Valentines day 2009 she had the most beautiful filly/baby anyone could ask for. Thanks for all the infomation, you’ve answered a lot of my questions and gave my Vet. a break from all my questions. I had always heard that art. insim. would yield more fillies because of numerous reasons, but I now know I was wrong.
There is still alot I want to know about how to compliment my mare with the right stallion, to produce the baby I want.
    Thanks
    Albert Kelly

It would be an honor to attend AQHA’s exciting Quartfest, The information I would learn here would be a benefit not only me but my 4-h group as I can develop learning lessons from them. I have always wanted to attend something of this caliber but being in college as a full time student and working on our farm has prevented me from attending. I would be an experience I would never forget and would undoubtedly gain knowledge to help train my Western Pleasure and Barrel horses. In addition, I hope upon graduating this fall I would be able to get involved in the circuit, I feel attending this event would help me understand the process and rewards from becoming an active AQHA member.
    Sincerely, Dana Veddler

    Hi Rachel and Dana,

I’m so glad you want to participate in QuarterFest! I just have to remind you, though, that entries have to be e-mailed to quarterfest@aqha.org to be considered.

Send your answers in soon, the contest ends *tomorrow.* I’d hate for you to miss your chance!

Rachel, have you spoken with anyone at AQHA about your benefit raffle?
