Redbud Spectacular – June 4

June 7, 2010

A progressive supper puts smiles on exhibitors’ faces at the Redbud Spectacular in Oklahoma City.

Exhibitors lined up hungrily for the progressive supper at the Redbud Spectacular.

The smells at a horse show are ubiquitous: Show Sheen, perspiration and alfalfa.  On June 4, the Redbud Spectacular added another scent to the air: supper!

Sharon Breeding organized the event, which saw ranches, trainers and other groups sponsor tables of food for hungry exhibitors and spectators. From quesadillas to pizza, pork sliders to peach cobbler, there was enough for everyone to have a taste and go away with a satisfied smile.

The American Quarter Horse Journal sponsored a table that offered mini cheeseburgers, pulled pork sliders and chicken tenders. It was a favorite, as was the table of K.C. Montgomery, which had strawberry shortcake.

“We organize it as a benefit for the exhibitors,” Sharon says of her labor of love that fed the masses.
