I had a wonderful horse that passed away 5 years ago. We miss him very much. I had lost his papers many years ago in a move, and now I would just like to have them, so I can show my children and grandchildren his bloodlines. How can I obtain a copy of his papers, just to have, since he has passed? I unfortunately did not take many pictures, as I was always busy doing other things with the kids and my horse, that I just didnt have time for pictures. What can I do?

I am having an issue with a mare(s) i bought in the USA. They did not have her papers in hand because they were at another place in Montana (daughters) and i purchased them from their ranch in Oklahoma. I have called these people several times to find out about where her papers are so I can transfer her and they at first told me they were still in AQHA hands this has been since Aug. how can i find out if they have at least been submitted. They have foals at their side and i need the papers for them as well. I plan on having them bred this spring and the breeder wants the papers in my name to do this!! I left another message today and no return call AGAIN! I have sales reciepts for all of them. Thank you

Hello I purchased a horse to where papers were lost. I have aquired all reciepts and transfers and sent an Affidavit for duplicate certificate form to last recorded owner, I recieved everything back without a signature on the Affidavit for duplicate what do I do if this person does not co-operate in signing Affidavit? Is it impossible now to transfer my horse into my name and will I never have her registration papers. I cannot understand why someone would neglect this?

AQHA requires an affidavit for duplicate certificate form to be completed and submitted before a horse’s certificate can be duplicated. The recorded owner of the horse must sign the form and have it notarized. You can send the affidavit to AQHA with a transfer report and we will update the ownership and reprint the certificate. Both the transfer and affidavit for duplicate forms can be printed from aqha.com/resources.

Good morning, can someone please respond to this asap today? I am in desperate need of advice! I am going to pick up my new QH mare tomorrow. Everything was lined up and then the owner just called me this morning stating that she cannot can’t find the horse’s registration papers. The horse is free….the owner said she would look for the papers after the holidays and let me know if she finds them. Is there any way i can actually verify in the meantime that this horse IS registered?? If the owner can give me the horses registration # (just not the actual papers) can I as her new owner call AQHA and request a copy of her registration papers?

Ok so my dad lost my horses paper they are filled under his name but he is no longer a curent member of AQHA. I have the Affidavit for Duplicate Certifacte Form but I wanted to no if he HAS to be a member to get the duplicate papers and also we don’t know what the horses registered name is do we need that or know. thx this would help a lot I really need his papers.

AQHA rules leave the circumstances of a sale in the hands of the buyer and seller. In matters such as these, if you sent a transfer to AQHA, we would send a request to the seller for her signature on the transfer and the certificate of registration. If she doesn’t respond, or tells us she sold the horse without papers, we would request the certificate and hold it in the office until she writes and requests otherwise.

i had a horse givin to me and she would only give me a copy of the horses papers and wouldnt sign it s i could have it in my name. i have had the horse 3 years and there was nothing put on paper that i could not get him in my name or was givin to me how can i have my horse put in my name

I bought an AQHA gelding from this guy who had the bill of sale from when he bought him and never had the horse transferred into his name…….He forgot OUR bill of sale and said would mail it to me, which it has been 2 months now and still have not received it. I do have his papers, but no bill of sale, and the last owners listed on the papers are deceased. If I can’t get this guy to send me the bill of sale, how do I get the horse transferred into my name?

I had a registered quarter horse mare given to me. The owner gave me her papers but I never put my name on the paper and now I cant even find the registration paper. Is the only way for me to replace the paper is contacting the former owners?

I also would like to find the complete info. I only rember the sires name and my mares registered name and her year of birth. Will that be enough info to get the rest of the info?
