Thanks! Kris

hi, i am not a vet!I am instructor/clinician on riding and training maily. I also own and run a holistic farm for horse and riders. I do know that equine titers are available. rabies (3-5yrs) and E&W Encephalitis can last for more than a year, last I researched it a year or two ago and there maybe more know. I have do titers on my dogs and cat for years now. After having vaccinations for some years before I became aware of titers and why one might choose that over ANOTHER vaccination, their immunity showed strong enough for longer than they would LIVE. I Still do occasional SINGLE vaccinations so I am interested to hear what Dr. Lenz has to say. Dr.Jean Dodds and Dr. R. Schwartz are 2 vets that I google that have latest research as far as I know and what I go by.

I am concerned with over vaccinating. I had vaccines when I was a child but not since then. So why do we continue to vaccinate a horse each year. If they were vaccinated don't they build up antibodies to protect them the rest of their lives? Is this just a way for vets to keep the money flowing into their pockets? My horse is 12 years old and has been vaccinated for everything under the sun. Can I stop now? If not, why not?
