Youth Goals for 2010

The new year brings opportunities for setting goals, even at AQHYA.

Youth Officers

2009 Youth Officers

It’s on everyone’s mind right now — resolutions!  AQHYA has them, too.

This year, the list of goals from the youth officers puts focus on scholarship, education and much, much more.

We’ll keep you posted as we mark accomplishments off our list. Then, you can help us make new goals!

Youth Officer and Director Goals:

Scholarship – Raise $3,500 through fundraisers

  • Calendar Raffle
  • Regional Fundraisers
  • Continue to promote Members Plus Raffle until drawing in November
  • Promote the sale of the Ford Truck Raffle tickets beginning January 2010

Community Service

  • Conservation project to work with youth affiliates in their regions to clean up a trail
  • Promote the STEP program grants to a 4-H groups

JMH/Education

  • Conduct a minimum of two JMH classroom visits
  • Host a JMH clinic for a 4-H club in their area

Public Policy

  • To create awareness of legislative issues affecting the horse industry
  • Draft a newsletter to send to youth members
  • Attend Q Contact training and make Hill visits in support of AQHA’s legislative issues
